Translator Week 9

Hello everyone!!! It’s Nahomi and this week I am the translator.

For those one who don’t know, the role of the translator is in charge of selecting five words that define our weekly work. Also, this role has to propose a question that includes the main defects and problems that had emerged during task performance.

The words that I had selected are:


Infographic: An infographic is a hybrid made of explicative images and text with the aim of communicating information in an interactive way. I had chosen this word because the infographic was the way in which we present our task at class. It defines a part of our task perfectly.


Competence: When we think about what a competence is we refer to the capacity, knowledge, skills and attitudes to success in a specific activity or task.

As we have seen, this concept is basic in this task because we have to know the competence that a teacher must have to be a good one, especially in technology. According to the concept that an institution has of ICT and its potentialities, teachers would need a kind of skills or others. In relation to these, teachers must know how to transmit the competencies to the new digital era to make them know how to work with ICT that, now, are a big part of our daily life.


Digital World: About this concept, I will say that it is perfect to define our era. As we all know, we are living in a situation of change, we are introducing technology little by little, technology in our lives. Nowadays, you can turn on your vacuum cleaner from your phone, you can cook with a kitchen robot and your blinds can be raised by a virtual assistant.

We have changed our lives and we have introduced technology in many aspects of it, so education was not going to be less. Teachers must develop competencies to work with technology, but also, they have to transmit to their students to make them learn according to the demand of nowadays.


TPACK: We had worked with this concept before, but I had decided that is essential in this task too.

TPACK is a learning theory based on three elements that a teacher must manage in order to include ICT in his or her work and achieve an effective pedagogical practice that is enhanced by technology.

The three elements of TPACK are Technological Knowledge (TK), Pedagogical Knowledge (PK) and Content Knowledge (CK).


Learning community: The learning community is made up of all the people who participate in a person's learning, from teachers, parents and students to neighbors or associations. Nowadays, ICT is used to communicate with the learning community. And I have added because communication with the learning community requires critical selection of sources of information.







These have been my five concepts of the last week...
Being a translator this week has been a pleasure to say goodbye to this stage.
