Translator Week 8

Hello there! Nieves here again as the Translator for week number 8. My job here is to get the five most important terms we have used or discovered this week and explain them to you. Also, I’m in charge of informing you about the main problems we’ve had.

Now, here is a simple graphic with the terms we have used:

PLE: It means Proximal Learning Environment. It’s the learning context we find ourselves and the social connections that are linked to the sources from which we learn.

ACCESS, MODIFY, REFLECT, CONSTRUCT AND SHARE: These are actions that are normally done when working within our PLE. We access the information, modify it and reflect on it, and in the end, we construct our own information and share it.

YOUTUBE: It is a website dedicated to share videos. In the context of this task, it could be a part of the PLE, because in this site we can do all the actions needed for it to be part of our PLEs.

TWITTER: It is an online service where you can write your messages and opinions in a place where everyone can see. In this task, Twitters also fulfills the functions necessary to be part of the PLE.

WAKALET: It is a kind of online announcement board where you can organize, save and share information in a quick and visual way. As we have seen, this tool also fulfills the actions that a PLE should have.

As for the most difficulties we have had this week, have been related to the comprehension of the task. We lost a lot of time trying to understand what exactly the task asked for us. In the end it turned out OK, but it took us most of the week to know what was the aim.

And this is all I’ve got for you this week. Thank you for reading our blog and we will see you next wee, in our final week!
