Facilitator Week 6

 Hello everyone! I am Lucía and this week I am the facilitator. This role is mainly in charge of organizing the group, distributing the tasks, solving any kind of conflicts and uploading all the online spaces of the group.

This week we developed Task 6, which consisted in creating a Pecha Kucha presentation about "exploring tasks with digitals for fostering transversal competencies". Basically, we had to design an activity for Tutorial Action, combining 4 activities. Each activity represented a certain competency. The chosen competencies were: Communication in foreign languages, Learning to learn, Cultural awareness and expression, Social and Civic Competence.

We chose a common topic for all the activities: Space travel. Each activity has a shared goal, that is to prepare students for traveling to space. In this sense, the students were in charge of learning special vocabulary related to space in a second language, creating a list with the things they will need in their trip, writing a report taking notes of the mission while reflecting it in an infographic and making ethical decisions that will result in the creation of a new colony in a new planet.

The apps we used for carrying out this task were: Vocabulary.com, Remember the milk, Canvas and Quandary. We have followed a rubric to evaluate each app, so that we made sure that they were reliable in privacy terms as well as efficient. We have  graded each app from 0 to 5 stars, being 0 the lowest result and 5 the highest. The ranking is as it follows:

Vocabulary.com: 4 stars 

Remember the milk: 3 stars

Canvas: 4 stars

Quandary: 3 stars

In order to complete the task, we carried out some video conferences, in which we decided the competencies and activities to use. We also had to reproduce the activities as if we were the students and answer some questions about them. Finally, our two stars Marta and Nahomi will present the project to the rest of the class.

This week, we faced some difficulties regarding the group's organization and coordination. However, we have talked it through and we think we have found a solution for distributing the tasks in the future.
