Analyst Week 6
Hey! I'm Cristina and this week (drums in the background…..) I'm the Analyst. I'm in charge of grading each member's work, using a rubric, and writing a reflection about what the task is about.
This week we have been working with different competencies to organize an activity for tutorial action and we have chosen Communication in foreign languages, Learning to learn, Cultural awareness and expression and Social and civic competence. we used different technological tools for each competency and then perform the activity that we named Space Travel.
While performing the activity we encountered with good and bad aspects. It has been especially hard and at the same time satisfying.
The best part of the activity was discovering and working with the different apps and online games the children can use to learn and organize themselves such as: Remember the Milk, Quandary, Canva, and Vocabulary.com.
For some reason, this week's task was especially hard for us to get organized and to make it work for all in order to complete it. And the disagreements among our team members, which was surely the worst part of the whole task. We eventually managed to divide it and finish it together as a team.
On the one hand, the best moment for our group has been seeing the task completed and being able to present it so well. Also it was extremely good to hear the feedback that we received from Linda, the positive such as that she thought it was really interesting for decision making and the app Quandary, as well as the thing to improve. On the other hand from the worst moment was the presentation, counting with 20 seconds per slide, which was quite stressing.
Throughout this activity, we have learnt many things such as:
The importance of all the social and cultural competencies.
There are so many possibilities to teach in a classroom to motivate and engage with the students.
Having things to improve and making mistakes is not a bad thing, and being humble to be able to fix the mistakes we have made is maturity.
Discussing and having conversations about disagreements makes our work better.
And last but not least, that teamwork always wins.
As a team, a thing that should remain in our projects is the creativity and the ability to accept challenges and overcome them; I personally feel that we are really good at both. but it is also true that we need to improve our organization skills as well as dividing the tasks inside the assignment to make it easier and more dynamic to fulfill.
Taking into account the topic of this task, we had previously worked with competencies in another subject of this degree: “Planificación y Acción Tutorial”. In this subject, we had to, according to the law, plan different activities for different school subjects with their corresponding competencies, standards, materials, resources, and objectives.
The competencies we have chosen are intimately related to today because the first one, Communication in foreign languages, is the basis of our studies and personally our degree, and they are the future; and Cultural awareness and expression and Social and civic competence are now in our society because equality and life in community and in general social relations are very up to date.
