Analyst Week 2

Hello there! I’m Nieves and I am the Analyst for this week’s task.

The task for this week was about finding information about TPACK and ACAD, and it was a complete rollercoaster of emotions for us! We had our ups and downs, but eventually, we managed to complete the task successfully with our sanity almost intact. So, here is our overall reflection.

The activity has helped us to discover new methods and tools that will come very useful for us as teachers in the future. So that was basically the best part of what we got by doing this activity: the many possibilities and things that we will be able to implement in our future lessons. Obviously, these tools have many different components that we have to make sure are set up correctly. The end result was the good part of the activity, however, the process… definitely the worst part. Finding information about TPACK and ACAD turned out to be more difficult than what we anticipated. The web pages we visited didn’t give a lot of information about them, especially about ACAD, whose explanations were very vague and short in most of the cases.

Now, do you remember the ups and down that I mentioned earlier? Let's talk about them. I’m going to start with the worst part of our week as a group: when we found out. Now you might be asking: “Wait, don’t you know you have a task every week?” Yes, but we thought we were still on week one. The thing is that every wednesday our teacher Linda uploads the task to Aula Virtual and the next tuesday we have to show what we have done. However, being the second week, we weren’t aware of that. Long story short, we found out we had to do this task on saturday at 10 pm. The stress was at its highest level and our group chat exploded. Knowing our beginning I think you can understand the relief we felt when we finished. Writing down the final word on the document was the best moment of our week without a shadow of a doubt.

If trying to avoid having a heart attack was the only way to show us we have to pay more attention to Aula Virtual, then lesson learned! This is something we have to work on, looking at everything that gets uploaded to Aula Virtual and reading the documents carefully. Nonetheless, this situation we have lived has made us work really hard and organize ourselves really well to finish the activity as soon as possible and the best we could. That organization and the hard work are things we need to keep for the many more weeks we have ahead.

In conclusion, all the content we have learned and the challenges we have faced will definitely help us throughout this course. The TPACK and ACAD method will be very useful to design possible activities in the future task and to take into account its different components.

Thank you very much for reading our reflection and see you next week!

Nieves
